While it’s wonderful to share a special trip and new experiences with friends, a partner, or family, there’s a compelling case for travel alone from time to time. Solo travel can work for anyone, whether you’re single, in a relationship, extroverted, or introverted it will nuture you into a whole new person.
Here are few reasons why you should travel alone.
1. Simple Logistics:-
In today’s era, everyone is running around in their life checking off their to-do list, extracting time for someone else and for their plans needs prior notice. Its always not possible to find a companion to travel with to your desired destination. So why wait, just pack your bag anyways and fly off to the place of your own choice.
2. Be You:-
The simplest of reasons to solo travel is to be you out of your comfort zone. The place you live in involves people who know you, who will judge you time to time and may try to control you. But when you go away to a destination, where no one knows you, its only you, you don’t have it worry about their reactions and their judgment of you. You learn to everything alone, it gives you a chance to do things that you would rely on others to do for you, like simply ordering food for yourself.
3. You Decide for Yourself:-
There is no support around you to rely, you have to wake up yourself, choose a hotel for yourself and you only have you to blame it all on. This makes you much stronger than the past you. When you learn to take decisions for yourself you in-built a power in you that can not be shattered by anyone. You become Independent.
4. Makes you Optimist:-
When new things come your way, maybe in start you will be scared to take them, but ultimately you grab them, and while traveling alone you are met with this situation time and time again. You will take pleasure in small things, appreciating things will come easy to you, and who ever said being optimist would doom you down. There will be people who will go out of their way to help and make you believe that humanity still exists.
5. Learn a lot about Humankind:-
While traveling alone you don’t have anyone beside you to provide your continuous attention to, this gives you immense time to look around you, look at people and their actions, you get to capture a lot of unique moments. You comes across hundreds of people, with some you will interact, exchange stories, experiences. Their stories and experience will show you a whole new and different direction of life. Traveling alone will make you observant.
6. Makes you Flexible:-
All these decisions that you will be taking alone will make you realize the difference between your need and want. You learn where to and where not to invest your money in. It will help you in expanding your horizons, you will learn that you won’t always get what you want. You will be more accepting than demanding.
7. Live in the Moment:-
You tend to forget about where you came from and remember what you’re here for. Experiencing the foreign culture to the fullest teaches you more than you could have ever imagined. You realize that life is short and you may never return to this place ever again so why not gauge the most in this experience.
8. Expect the Unexpected:-
You experience new or unexpected emotions, feelings and challenges. You learn that it’s just another part of the same world you’ve been living in for so long. You don’t assume, you experience. You understand you can’t live depending upon assumptions in life.
You may catch up on a new passion or interest. You might experience moments which will take away your long lasting phobias.
9. You will Miss:-
Yes, you will obviously miss your friends and family back there in your homeland. But, this will strengthen you emotionally to, since you can’t stand up and go back to them, you will learn to handle them in your own unique way.
